February News
The United States Census will be joining us at the February parent meeting on
Wednesday February 3, 2010 at 8:00 am Please join us armed with questions. It is especially important in Detroit to take part in the 2010 Census, so we can have an accurate count and receive the services we so desperately need.
Jersey Week
Feb. 1-4
Be part of promoting fitness and sports in the Hernandez Center during jersey week. We are getting our kids interested in physical activity and sports early, which is as important as reading and math.
Dress your child in his/her favorite sports jerseys. Have fun and root for the home team!
Friendship and Dental Week
Feb. 8-11
Make sure to brush those teeth!
Feb. 9 will be Red Tee-shirt day, dress appropriately.
Winter break and Home Visits
Feb 15-19
There will be no school during this week, however the teachers will be conducting home visits. Don't forget to make an appointment with your teacher.
Black History Month
As we all know February is Black History Month. This year is truly special as we have elected the first African American President. We will be putting on a Black History Program for our parents on Feb. 25 at 10:00am. Come in and celebrate with your children!
